What Are the Top Laptop Brands?
Posted on: July 14, 2011
The top laptop brands actually have to be broken down into several categories, since there are so many variables involved when it comes to laptops. Some considerations would have to be price range, computing needs, processor size and even size of the laptop.
There are roughly 12 main contenders in the top laptop catagory, and these contenders produce laptops in several different categories. The market is basically tied up by these 12 main companies. They produce the majority of the laptops on the market.
Major Brands
Sony, Dell, Macintosh, Samsung, Gateway, Acer, Fuji, Panasonic, Hewlett Packard, Compaq, Toshiba, Lenovo are the major players in laptop production. There is one company that stands out from the rest because it does not use Microsoft supported operation systems. Macintosh which produces Apple products is the only company that uses its own platforms.
The top laptops according to US sales records are: Dell, Hewlett Packard, Compaq and Toshiba in that order. If they are selling more laptops does that make them tops? Not necessarily according to cnet.com the top laptop brands are actually: Macintosh, Toshiba, Hewlett Packard, Sony, and Dell never even made the list!
Each laptop brand offers different pricing and different models, so ultimately it comes down to a personal choice as to which brand will be the top laptop brand for you.
A lot of folks swear by Macintosh's Apple Mac Book, but they are expensive more so than most other laptops and there is nothing to compare them to since they are the only other option to MS operating systems. Again this is largely a personal choice.
